Happy Monday!
I hope you’ve been enjoying yourself as you create your dream(s) each day.
I’m officially back at work after a lovely three-week vacation. I had a great time resting, painting, exercising, being with Angie, Mana, Penny, Maggie, taking saunas, and being in my garden.
In my blog today, I will share:
1. Your Spiritual Fishing Trip (Pt. 1 of 2)
2. Holistic Lifestyle Level 1 Course Completions and CHEK 4 Quadrant Coaching Mastery Workshop
3. GMO Ingredients
4. Show-N-Tell With Paul
Your Spiritual Fishing Trip (Pt. 1 of 2)
Today I share a simple concept I call the spiritual fishing trip.
My video blog uses a fishing trip as an analogy for how we go about living our lives.
I begin by explaining the material dimension and contrasting that with the subtle dimension in which we experience such essentials as love, values, empathy, and compassion.
I continue by explaining what the unconscious is relative to the conscious ego, and discuss how we have a tendency to avoid the things we don’t like (throwing fish back).
In Part 2., I will share some of the approaches I use and teach for “better (spiritual) fishing”. I hope you enjoy part one and I look forward to sharing more in part 2.

C4Q Coaching
I’m still buzzing from teaching the first CHEK 4-Quadrant Coaching Mastery workshop in the UK.
We had a full house with 75 students, and our San Diego class schooled for September already has that many people registered and will sell out!!
We had 50 people offer video testimonials, sharing their experience of the training. James Phelps, our staff marketer, informed me that the testimonials were awesome and we’ll have some up to share with you soon.
I designed this workshop to teach individuals the steps of essential self-healing and the essentials of the life process.
It is only by honestly looking into ourselves and engaging in our own healing process that we can live, love, parent, or coach/guide others to our potential.
I have used, and do regularly use all the methods for advanced coaching I share in the workshop in my own life and professional practice.
Growing ourselves is a lifetime process, and we are in an era, and in cultures around the world that have drifted far from our center.
I personally feel that the most important contribution we can make to our loved ones, the world, and ourselves is to learn to heal, love and care for ourselves effectively.
Each step we take forward in our own spiritual journey, the more clear and calm we become; we add that clarity and calmness to each relationship we share, be they personal, social, or professional in nature.
If you are ready to take an honest look inside yourself, enjoy a deep exploration of how consciousness grows and develops in a human being, and learn many basic and advance coaching techniques, this is the workshop for you!
Because of the depth of the materials, and the time it takes to authentically complete and practice the methods shared in the lessons the course offers, I’m offering each workshop participant free on-line access to the program when it launches publically.
I’m giving each of the existing CHEK Professionals with “current” status up to one year to complete this mandatory training so they have time to embody the wisdom.
It is a big danger that our culture has come to think that just because it read the book, or can say the words, that mastery has been achieved.
It is my dream that my students learn the steps of Self-Realization (or progressive enlightenment) authentically so they can be the change.
If my first group of students to go through the workshop with me is any indication of what’s to come, we are all in good shape. They were open, honest, and highly motivated to heal, learn and grow, and were very grateful for the tools they gained at the workshop.
There is no better time than NOW to find meaning in your life challenges. There is no better time than NOW to learn to love and care for yourself. There is no better time than NOW to learn to forgive those that have wounded you in some way, for until that has been accomplished, we remain fragmented, broken, partial beings, and can only bring that into the world each day.

GMO Ingredients
Angie forwarded me this photo showing that the label for Cheetos shows GMO (genetically modified organisms) contents on the package.
Though this is certainly a step in the right direction, the fact that anyone would eat such non-foods is a concern for me as a Holistic Health Practitioner.
Without going into a long dissertation on the subject, suffice to say that I’ve done a lot of research into this subject and my firm conclusion is, “stay away from all GMO containing foods!”
In my research, I found numerous documents/studies showing that animals fed GMO containing foods developed a wide variety of serious health challenges ranging from mal-formed organs, gland and organ dysfunction to immune system challenges.
We are designed by nature to be part of nature. What is not a product of nature is naturally not suited to being part of our bodies.
That said, there are many things in nature we can’t eat, and shouldn’t eat; many plants and animal species are poisonous.
It takes the body many generations of exposure to learn to effectively deactivate the toxic molecules in any given foodstuff.
In the last 20 years, humans have been eating a myriad of things that are synthetically based, or genetically modified.
Over and over again, I’ve seen a wide variety of body and mind symptoms from eating such foods. To remove them and replace with organic whole foods is to add life to your life, your family and to the earth on which we live.
Show-N-Tell With Paul
Angie and I love taking Mana and Maggie (Angie’s pug) for walks each day. Penny goes with us when she can, and when she’s watching Mana she takes him on nice long walks; he LOVES being outside, particularly in nature.
His little baby eyes aren’t use to too much direct light yet so Angie got him some sunglasses. He looks pretty cool in his shades ah!
We are having loads of fun watching him grow and go through his infant development stages.
In the past week or so, he’s been enjoying his new skill of rolling over. Sometimes he’ll just roll to one side and then switch at random to the other repeatedly, like he’s really enjoying this newfound sense of freedom.
He is getting quite good with his hands now too. As Angie and Penny have found out the hard way, he likes to grab a handful of hair and pull on it!
He recently began making conscious contact with Maggie, Angie’s pug, too. It’s so lovely to see him reach out and pet her.
Maggie has been there with him throughout Angie’s pregnancy and it’s been an adjustment for her. She’s used to getting all of Angie’s attention and now gets a little grumpy when Mana is the main event. Even so, she still shows Mana affection and goes to him, nuzzles him, kisses him and lets him interact with her.
He’s just recently gotten over jet lag from our trip to the UK for the past three weeks. It was surprising for me to see how strongly how travel affected him.
Angie has been studying methods for helping restore his sleep rhythms, and her changes have been very helpful.
This little guy just doesn’t seem to want to miss out on anything and fights hard not to fall asleep, day or night. I can only imagine how amazing the world must be to a newborn.
It’s all fun and a great learning experience for all of us.
Sun & Soul
I call this painting “Sun and soul”. I started it this past Friday, and finished it on Sunday.
I kept having visions of the sun and a heart in this position relative to each other. In my vision, there were emanations of light emerging from each symbol, which were interlacing like a weave.
I’m not a skilled enough (or patient enough) artist to paint such a complex image yet, so I let what I could share come out of me.
The sun is an ancient symbol for the ego, and the heart represents the home of the soul. The wings represent the capacity of the soul to fly to other dimensions of reality both in life, and at the time of death.
I have incorporated the elements of earth, water, fire, air and space, which are all essential for the soul to have an experience of itself in life.
The cross in the heart represents the process of individuation. It is only by entering space-time and a material body that the soul can engage in relationships with self and others.
Relationships are essential for love to be meaningful, to be real.
The vertical beam of the cross represents the transcendent dimensions of archetypes and non-relational space (the Tao that can’t be spoken), while the horizontal beam represents living with self-realization in time (past-present-future).
For me, this painting symbolizes my vacation, during which I spent a fair amount of time in meditation, deep relaxation, and sleeping (vertical beam of the cross), as well as enjoying my family and joyful activities (horizontal beam of the cross).
I hope you’ve enjoyed my blog today.
I’ll look forward to sharing part two of “Your Spiritual Fishing Trip” with you next week.
Until then, celebrate life and love and remember, having the best of things doesn’t make people happy, but making the best of things does!
Love and chi,
Paul Chek
