AH HO! and Happy Monday to all of you!
One of the very lovely things about starting my Living 4D With Paul Chek podcast nearly nine months ago is that I have more and amazing opportunities to teach new groups of people what I’ve been sharing with my students and followers all over the world for 35+ years.
Despite all of the prep work and the steep learning curve (not to mention all of the extra work on Penny and our staff), doing this podcast is really exciting and lots of fun for me.
At the end of the day, I’m an educator. That’s my passion. I love it and I love sharing new things with the world as often as I have the opportunity to do it.
My Living 4D With Paul Chek podcast series also gives me — and you — great opportunities to revisit and re-emphasize my philosophies about important health issues.
The overuse of supplements
Last week’s Living 4D episode was a fascinating conversation with Chervin Jafarieh, a man who’d made lots of money in Southern California real estate and the hedge fund world.
The gist of our longer conversation is the challenge of finding and creating products that support human health while multi-national corporations and uninterested governments are spoiling our environment.
This short excerpt gives me the opportunity to talk more deeply about my philosophies toward supplements.
For one, even the best supplement in the world can become a detriment if you overuse it.
Nothing man-made can truly replace the nutrients your body was built to consume and absorb in real, honest-to-God whole foods.
For example, you just can’t take the carotenoids out of a carrot and expect to get everything your body needs.
Carotenoids are pretty dynamic and versatile. Not only are they responsible for the beautiful yellow, orange and red colorings in many fruits and vegetables, they are a class of phytonutrients that help plants absorb light in the photosynthesis process.
Our bodies take advantage of the antioxidants in carotenoids to protect us from cancer and cardiovascular disease and provide our immune systems a much-needed boost.
Supplements are a tool to bring your body into a healthier balance. Their best use is to help you learn what’s missing in your body and the symptoms that led you there until you don’t need them any longer.
If you keep drugging your body by eating SAD CRAP and taking synthetic drugs and supplements, you aren’t learning a thing.
You’re just part of the legion of the walking dead. Not dead, but not quite alive either. Just existing, and not living a healthy meaningful life.
My life’s purpose
Believe me, I’ve been pitched many opportunities from plenty of people wanting me to front my own line of supplements, or launch my own line of Swiss balls and sell my soul and reputation in the process.
My real purpose here on Planet Earth is to help people figure who they really are and how they can develop deeper connections to our world and cosmos.
I’d rather be broke and honest than rich and trapped in a shadow of my own making.
That’s where this excerpt from my conversation with Chervin starts, and it gets a lot deeper from there…
Love and chi,
Paul
