Hello again from Beautiful, sunny Vista, California!

Sooo nice to be HOME!

Well, NYC was a buzz as usual. Penny and I did have a nice trip to and from NYC. We were able to get direct flights and fly business class, which is a huge help to me after over 20 years of constant jet travel.

As much as I love helping people, I’ve come to the point in my life where I must help myself first and foremost, which means I either fly business class or, I don’t go teach. As I always tell my students, your “yes has no value until you learn to say No!”

The highlight of my trip was being able to enjoy some time with Penny. I really love my wife and we are usually so busy that we have a hard time getting quality time together.

Penny, unlike me, loves to travel. She’s so committed to the mission of the institute that she makes travel part of her enjoyment and loves to see people have an opportunity to learn about my teachings. As a woman with three masters degrees, she’s well aware of the gap between university training and the practical knowledge that I share through institute training programs. She enjoys seeing people come to our courses, starting our as over-worked, tired and unhealthy people and then seeing them heal and get wind in their sails as they go through the programs. She feels that as challenging as traveling and working so much is for our personal well-being that we are making a worthy offering to others.

Penny and I both have to work constantly to keep balance. I’m so proud of her for sharing her love so openly with the students worldwide. I got to rub her head and feet several times while we were away and last night when we got home and that makes me feel good; she loves to be loved that way.

The Lowdown On ECA
I began in NYC by giving a one-day workshop last Thursday titled The Science Of Breathing and Movement. We had good attendance with several CHEK Practitioners there. The feedback on the course was excellent, which inspires me to keep teaching on the days I feel like I’ve had enough and done enough for the world in my life!

This course is essential because, as I show in the CHEK Totem pole, breathing is the first and most important issue to correct with clients. Breathing is the beginning of life-force generation in any living organism and if compromised for any reason, many physical, emotional and mental challenges emerge, none of which will resolve with symptom based treatment approaches.

I delivered an additional five lectures at ECA. The conference has been getting smaller and smaller each year for the past few years due largely to the economic down-turn we’ve all been confronted with. This year, my class rooms were pretty small compared to what I’m accustom to but I did have good turnouts. Here you can see a shot of me teaching about core conditioning.

As usual, I was very busy answering questions after each event. I do my best to refer people to the CHEK Practitioners in the areas I’m lecturing in, which I did several times this time in NYC as well.

When I’m lecturing, I often get swarmed by people and need help from higher level CHEK Practitioners to answer questions and help people with life challenges. CHEK Level 4 and Team CHEK Presenter Tomi Toles was was very generous with his time and energy. He helped me teach and fielded many questions as well. Thanks Tomi for all your support!

The Tradeshow
I’m normally so busy running from lecture to lecture and trying to find time to exercise and eat that I don’t normally go to the booth. Fortunately, I decided to head down and say hello and answer questions this trip.

I say “fortunately” because CHEK Practitioner GiGi Barlow and her husband John Marsh have created an absolutely amazing health-food bar called “Real Bar”, which I was delighted to sink my teeth into!

There are very few bars that I can enjoy because so many of them have dairy and other items that my body doesn’t do well with, not to mention that most so-called health-bars are really junk-bars. John’s lovely creation comes in two formats, one of which is a vegan bar and as you can see by the photo here, I had no problem with it! It was AWESOME.

Gigi and John have opened a lovely organic restaurant in Manhattan (5 West 21st St.). Penny and I met them and a few friends there for dinner Sunday evening. I was absolutely blown away at the quality of the food and the lovely environment they’ve created there. This is my new safety-net for healthy eating in NYC!

I’m really glad Gigi and John created this beautiful place to get healthy food in NYC. I was saddened as I walked the streets of NYC to see the massive numbers of very sick people eating garbage everywhere! People are so out of touch with food and reality in big cities.

When events like Japan’s unfortunate happenings start hitting closer to home, those that don’t have good health will meet their maker, largely due to a lack of vitality. They simply won’t be able to withstand exposure to the elements. We all need to get back in touch with nature and Greenmarket Tavern is really doing an outstanding job of offering healthy food and environmental education to NYC. Thanks John, Gigi and staff at Greenmarket Tavern!

I’m taking a few days off to rest now but will do my best to keep up with some blogs for all interested in my views and my way of living.
