I’m taking the day off to rest today. It’s the first time I’ve had in a long time to get three days of quality rest, and I’m very excited to spend more time in my garden at home in Vista, and in my garden at my work-house (Heaven).
Above, you can see me in my garden at home in Vista, CA, having fun. I recently built this tall stack and when I build tall ones like this, I’m always wondering, “how long will it last?”
Well, amazingly, I’ve enjoyed laying in my front yard, or being outside in the past week while we’ve had some quite high winds.
A few days ago, I was out in the front yard with a friend of mine doing some drawing and relaxing, and the wind was blowing so hard is was practically taking the oranges off my trees, yet, she did not fall!
When the wind would start gusting, I’d look at the stack and watch it carefully. I could see a serpentine wave go through it, kind of like what happens if you take one end of a rope and give it a quick whip action and the wave goes down the length of the rope.
I thought several times she was coming down…but no! She stayed up and is still standing strong after many windy days.
To me, that’s a sign that I was in harmony with the Stone Buddhas. I took my time building it, and got myself very centered and relax before trying because I know just how tricky (and dangerous) building tall stacks can be. It was well worth the time to center myself, and build this nice big earth-acupuncture needle.
As it oscillates, it creates charges of energy that feel like little micro-currents. The micro-currents are absorbed by the earth, energizing the soil. This is one of the reasons that when you put a rock stack like this in the middle of seemingly dry, dead soil, within a short period of time, grass and other plants begin to grow all a round it.
Sometimes at night, after doing tai-chi and meditating in my HealthMate IR sauna, if the wind is blowing, I can feel the currents being made by my many rock stacks all around my property.
It feels very much like being in an acupuncture session and feeling the chi move as the therapist places and moves the needles, but much more subtle.
It’s like tiny little lightening strikes occurring in the earth and surrounding atmosphere. Lovely stuff!
It’s truly amazing how much we miss of what’s happening all around us because we are wound up, distracted, and tired from trying to survive in a modern world.
Surviving In A Modern World Pt. 2: Living Your Dream!
In Pt. 1. The Death Force, I explained the basic principles of tai-chi. I highlighted that life and death, if kept in functional balance (homeostasis), support each other.
I shared that many of the influences of living in a modern, fast-paced world result in excessive expression of the death-force (excess yang energy).
Today, I highlight the importance of having a dream, goal, motive, or objective that you desire enough to actually manage yourself and live for. I share tips for finding your dream if you don’t know what it is.
I then explain the essential concept of core values. Core values are the values that represent what you are willing to say “Yes” to, and what you will choose to say “No” to.
I highlight the 4 Doctors as categories of values that are needed to effectively support any dream.
Without core values, I can assure you from 30 years of coaching people, the death-force is likely to be dominant in your life.
With excessive yang energies, or excessive yin energies in our lives, we invite the death force. If you look at the level of disease, mental-emotional illness and imbalance, the amount of men that need drugs to get an erection, even in their early 20’s!, you will clearly see that we have, out of our own ignorance, invited death into our lives prematurely!
I hope you enjoy my little lesson for today. To learn more about dream living, read my books, How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy Now!, The Last 4 Doctors You’ll Ever Need, or study my PPS Program: How To Find and Live your Legacy!
Monday, I’ll continue my series. Have a fantastic weekend!
Love and chi,
Paul Chek
