Hello everyone!
As you most likely know by now, the world is a complex place with plenty of personal, professional and spiritual challenges. As we have become more and more technology oriented, we’ve progressively widened the gap between human beings and Mother Nature. One place this reality is dangerously evident is how our food is grown and prepared. Farmers were once the people that lived very close to the earth. They had to have an intimate understanding of astronomy in order to understand the cycles of nature so they know when to plant and harvest crops, or they and all the feed would starve to death! Farmers were once very tuned to the cycle of life and treated the earth as a Loving Mother; nothing was wasted and no unnecessary damage was done to the earth, for to damage Her was a sure-fire way to experience real problems.
Today, commercial farming is labeled as one of the world’s greatest polluters of our environment! In the year 2002, the farming industry sprayed 2 BILLION pounds of pesticides, herbicides, rodenticides, and fungicides on American soils—pretty shocking when you consider that in the year 1945, we only used 200,000 pounds and since then, crop losses have DOUBLED! Much of the chemical use targets weeds and parasites, yet, Sir Albert Howard (An Agricultural Testament – first published in 1940 and still considered to be one of the most respected agriculturists that every lived) warned all agriculturalists that weeds and pests give farmers their report card! To prove his point, he grew acres of crops organically, and while the crops were growing, he harvested barrels and barrels of insects known to attack those crops. When harvest time came (and the crops were sweet and tasty!), he poured the insects all over his crops; Howerd only lost 3-4% of his crops, which is the gold standard for organic farming without adding parasites! He showed, as did Dr. Philip Callahan (Tuning Into Nature), that parasites don’t even see healthy crops!

WHAT CAN WE DO?
In the beautiful documentary, One Man, One Cow, One Planet, you will learn how a retired professor of agriculture from New Zealand went to India to help after Indian farmers faced severe crop shortages and land challenges from using Monsanto’s genetically engineered seeds. The problem was so bad that the number of farmers committing suicide resulted in farmers having the highest rate of suicide of any profession in the world! This amazing documentary shows how that one man with wisdom and passion offered India a working solution. Now, India is on their way to being the world leader in Biodynamic Farming (even better than standard organic farming!). If you’ve ever wondered just how much power we have in our hearts, minds and hands to change the world for the better, this documentary is for you!
