Do you check the weather forecast every day? Even in Southern California where it doesn’t rain a lot, we still keep a lookout for Santa Ana winds that increase the chances of fires.
Whether it’s the slight threat of rain or greater one of high winds, it’s good to stay on top of things and pay attention to weather forecasts…
Recently when I was working out, I listened to another “weather forecast” in the form of a podcast conversation between my two great friends, Kyle Kingsbury and Ben Stewart.
The focus of their conversation was a review of the 1997 book, The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy by the late William Strauss and Neil Howe, that explains their generational theory defined by four cycles: High, awakening, unraveling and crisis.
I was so interested in what Kyle and Ben were discussing during their podcast, I had to buy that book, along with a kind of “Cliffsnotes” version, Summary of The Fourth Turning by Scorpio Digital Press.
After digesting that material pretty quickly, of course, I wanted to get in touch with Ben who had been researching these concepts for a while. This led me to inviting him back to my Living 4D podcast to discuss the Fourth Turning, defined as an era of destruction and rebuilding which is where we are right now!
In essence, our conversation is a dialogue on where we are in the Fourth Turning and the archetypal underpinnings behind it, a subject that always gets my juices flowing.
This week’s blog/vlog is the start of the conversation where Ben and I really lay out the Fourth Turning and what that means to us living in the world RIGHT NOW.
If you really want to drill down deeper beyond this excerpt, I urge you to listen to my entire conversation with Ben. You can watch or listen to our conversation on my Living 4D website, complete with show notes and A LOT of extra sources you can explore on your own.
It’s a tough weather forecast for sure, but it’s better to be in the know and as Ben reminds us, “Now is always the perfect time to start engaging with what’s happening…”
Love and chi,
Paul
