Going Deep For Meaningful Answers With Nick Psalia

Happy Labor Day Monday everyone!

I hope you’re taking time away from your labors today and every day, and investing it in your health, your happiness, your family… whatever gives you love, peace and fulfillment as a human being.

You really can’t participate in this beautiful thing we call life without investing your consciousness into being present and putting the absolute best of yourself back out there for the world around us, the work you do and the people you love.

Just to let you know I DO take my own advice, this week’s blog is a short one, so I can get some rest and spend some quality time of my own with Penny, Angie and Mana. There’s not enough hours in the day/week/month/year to do everything…

Talking to Nick Psalia

When I haven’t been working on new projects or seeing clients, I’ve been spending a lot of time talking about my career, my philosophies and what we do at the C.H.E.K Institute on the podcast “circuit” being interviewed by a lot of great people like Josh Trent, the host of Wellness Force Radio, and Kyle Kingsbury and his crew at Onnit.

About two months ago, I spent an awesome afternoon talking to Nick Psalia for his People Profits & Purpose podcast, whose ongoing goal is to find and interview successful people and learn what makes them tick.

Years ago, Nick was a student of mine who completed CHEK Exercise Coach and was in my PPS Mastery Program before he transitioned to the business world to mentor and coach people wanting to grow their small businesses.

I’m so very proud of Nick’s career and how he’s taken what he learned from me and his own experiences to help others achieve their dreams.

Our talk went so well and so long Nick decided to divide it into two parts. (Part 1 is just over a half-hour and part 2 lasted almost an hour.)

Part 1

In Part 1, I talk about my life and how it has helped me develop and shape who I am now. Then, Nick and I discuss the major building blocks of my approach to good health, including the CHEK Totem Pole and the 4 Doctors, the array of problems with the conventional health system, religious programming and an unhealthy disconnect most people have about where our food really comes from.

Part 2

Part 2 of our conversation started with a question — What does being human mean to me? — that we discussed pretty thoroughly via understanding the chakras, the human soul (the consciousness within a person), what stress does for us and vibrational consciousness.

If you like listening to podcasts while you work, you can do that for Part 1 and Part 2 via Player FM, or you can download both segments on iTunes.

More about the toxicity of artificial sweeteners

Not so long ago, I warned you about the deceptive food practices major corporations do to make you think you’re doing a good thing — losing weight — by selling you “soft” drinks loaded with artificial sweeteners that do nothing but harm your health.

I’m not sure how much longer BIG FOOD will be able to fool people about “safety” after reading this news report about a study featured in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health.

Using the same models the FDA use to judge the safety of foods based on daily intake, researchers at North Carolina State University discovered the artificial sweetener, sucralose, is broken down by the bodies of test animals into at least two fat-soluble metabolites. That’s a reversal of previous studies claiming sucarlose wasn’t broken down.

What’s more, sucralose was found in the tiny bodies of mice up to two weeks after they stopped being fed this toxic sweetener. This led researchers to suggest that it’s time to revisit the safety and regulatory status of sucralose.

If you’re as concerned about the health and safety of our food as I am, you’ll want to review this news report from North Carolina State University, and read the full study too.

Time to sign off and go see my family. Have an awesome week!

Love and chi,

Paul
