Happy Monday!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed your week, and that you had a playful weekend too.

Just so that all of you who follow my blog are aware, I will be on vacation for two weeks starting next Monday May 1, so if you are posting questions here or on my YouTube channel, chances are good I will not be responding so I can rest. ☺

So let’s get started:

What’s In Your Food?

There are now well over 10,000 chemicals of various types added to the public food supply by manufacturers and, sadly, a huge percentage of them have negative effects on our body-mind.

A big factor that leads to the consumption of so much garbage is the concept that we can “save money on food.” But can we?

When you consider both the short- and long-term costs of eating cheap food (most of which isn’t really “food” at all), cheap foods are very poor investments.

In my video blog, I give an overview of the many chemicals now put into foods and drinks, and share some thoughts about the dangers of believing what the government, scientists and manufacturers say about the safety of these so-called “food additives.”

I suggest that people consider using and studying the following resources:

1. The Food Additives Dictionary

2. The Safe Shopper’s Guide

3. The Mind-Gut Connection

I offer the following tips for you:

1. The longer any food lasts on the shelf (as a general rule), the worse it is likely to be for you!

2. If you can’t pronounce a word on the label, chances are good that your liver (and body) won’t like it!

Before you eat foods with fancy sounding additives you don’t understand on the label, look them up in a food additives dictionary, or use your phone to search the web so you know what you may be doing to yourself.

3. Eat organically grown, whole foods. A whole food is one that is minimally processed and as close to its natural state as possible. Chicken quartered and baked is a whole food. Chicken McNuggets is a processed food!

An orange is a whole food, but orange-flavored Tic-Tacks are a processed food.

4. Pay close attention to your body, emotions and mind after eating any food/meal to see if you get unusual responses that are not ideal.

If you eat that food or drink again and notice the same kind of symptoms, stay away from it!

Show-N-Tell with Paul

My longtime student and friend, Eva, from the UK came to do three days of focused life process work with me.

We started by getting clear on what her dream was for herself and our work together, then we painted to allow our right brains to contribute to the intention and process.

Like many of my private clients, Eva hadn’t painted before. She did very well with acrylics and enjoyed the richness of the color.

Eva loves drumming, and enjoys drum circle events at home. We used drumming as part of our integration practice.

It was amazing to be outside here in Heaven with all sorts of amazing butterflies, hawks, blackbirds, vultures and other winged beings enjoying the updrafts in the canyon surrounding my office.

Eva is quite an athletic woman, and I thought learning to stack rocks would give her a lovely practice that is both grounding and creative.

I took her out to meet “the creatures” in my rock circle. She had a lot of fun and as you can see, created a beautiful stack (the stack closest to you in the image). As I was teaching Eva, I created a new stack (behind me in the photo).

We got into the 12 key archetypes I teach in C.H.E.K 4-Quadrant Coaching Mastery (which is going to go live online very soon if you want to really develop your self-management and coaching skills to a whole new level!).

It was very helpful for Eva to see how her body-mind energy can be best invested to support her dream at this time in her life.

By the time we finished our 3-day process together, Eva had a sense of clarity on who she is “now,” and how to manage her internal energies to more easily be that person each day.

We identified ways she can enhance her daily spiritual practice easily and naturally.

I’m proud of Eva for looking openly and honestly into herself and getting clear on her dream and how to create it day-to-day at this time in her life.

She is a great example as a woman and a teacher, and I’m grateful for the growth we experienced together.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my blog today.

I will be on vacation for the next two weeks, but I’ve recorded a couple of blogs in advance for those of you who enjoy my blogs.

I hope you enjoy them.

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
